Welcome!
I am a nutrition scientist researching global food systems, passionate about protecting the health of people and our planet. I focus on identifying high-impact solutions—from sustainable agriculture to healthy diets—that promote human nutrition, support planetary health, and build climate resilience, now and for generations to come.
I am currently a Planetary Health Postdoctoral Fellow at Stanford University, jointly affiliated with the Stanford Center for Innovation in Global Health, the Stanford Center for Human and Planetary Health, and the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine (LSHTM). During this fellowship, I will assess climate-resilient agricultural interventions to improve maternal and child nutrition in low-resource settings, with a focus on agroecological diversification.
From 2021 to 2024, I was a postdoctoral researcher in the Climate Change and Health Working Group at the Charité – Universitätsmedizin Berlin Institute of Public Health and the Potsdam Institute for Climate Impact Research (PIK) in Germany. As part of the FAARM research team, I evaluated the impact of a homestead food production intervention in Bangladesh on the diets and nutrition outcomes of women and young children. I was also a lead investigator of the NURISHD project, which evaluated the environmental footprint and diet quality of foodservice in nursing homes and hospitals in Germany.
I earned my PhD in Nutritional Sciences at the University of Michigan School of Public Health. My dissertation research investigated linkages between household livestock ownership and anemia among young children in Ghana, assessing both the nutritional benefits of animal-source food consumption and the infectious disease risks of exposure to enteric pathogens from animal feces. During my PhD, I also served on the University of Michigan President’s Commission on Carbon Neutrality (PCCN) Food Analysis Team to provide recommendations for reducing food-related carbon emissions.
